The New Year

Now that Christmas is behind…

… us and we can actually see the paths and roads again after the snow and ice (although we did have some” interesting” runs during the cold snap).  We are able to continue with our training on Thursday nights.  At the moment we are focusing on our training on 2 events, the Dewsbury 10k 7th February, which many beginners are looking at completing in a better time than the Abbey Dash as it is a very similar course, and the Keighley BigK 10k on 14th March (Mothers Day)  again many of the beginners took part in last years event and are looking to improve this time round.

We also have many new runners who will be taking part for the first time and they are building up their distance in time for the event.  Entries can be done on line at www.bigk10k.org.uk

At our Thursday night sessions at Greenhead from 6:30pm we are continuing to build on our work before Christmas with sessions available to all abilities and new runners are always welcome.  We are also doing runs on Tuesday nights and they are aimed at those who have some experience and want to increase their milage with runs of up to 5.5 miles.  These runs are designed so that all abilities can get some benefit.

For those with a bit of a more adventurous nature we are also continuing our Sunday runs from around Keighley on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month, from now until the BigK 10K we will also be running a number of recce runs around the course.  Other Sunday runs which can get up to 11+ miles at a very steady pace are usually off road on the many trails and tracks in the area.

Look forward to seeing you at the sessions
